With the ‘2014 Wedding Season’ officially finished for FLEURtacious, the new branding completed, new website launched and studio put back together so that it doesn’t look as if a major flower explosion had taken place… I finally have some time to reflect on all the wonderful couples who asked me to contribute to their wedding day and all the pretty flowers that came from it all!
I’d like to start off with Amy & Colin’s beautiful wedding which took place in March out at the GORGEOUS Oceanfront Prestige Resort in Sooke. When I first met with Amy over coffee, I felt like I had known her for years, such an easy-going and fun bride.
Amy chose to go with crisp colour tones to fit the early spring season perfectly, using gorgeous white peonies, anemones, hydrangea and perfect little accents of white and pale pink David Austin Roses. One of my favourite flowers for a winter/early spring wedding is a gem of a flower called ‘Hellebore’ – so I added touch of pink just to set off the final design of the bouquet. It was Divine!! Fresh, classic and elegant!!
Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs!! And to the cutest crew of flowers girls and ring bearers around!!
Here are the flowers and their meanings for Amy’s bouquet – This woman is all class!!
Peony ♥ Happy Life, Happy Marriage, Good Health and Prosperity
Anemone ♥ Anticipation
Hydrangea ♥ Heartfelt Emotion
White Rose ♥ Purity and Innocence
Pink Rose ♥ Grace, Admiration, Joy and Gratitude
Hellebore ♥ Embodied Confidence; (for she who is ready to be a woman, not a girl).
Amy & Colin chose to work with some pretty fantastic vendors for their wedding too – Here’s some of contributors to their day:
