I cannot believe how long it has taken me to blog about THIS amazing event – so here goes, the final blog event for FLEURtacious in 2014, and quite possibly the most amazing event I have ever been a part of…
. . . . . .
I woke to a message one morning last summer, asking what the plans were for my Birthday – September 6th, 2014. It was from my incredibly talented friend and mentor Anya Caliendo in New York – Eek! As you can imagine, I have never leapt out of bed so quickly – barely able to contain the excitement running through my fingers while attempting to type back in a semi-sophisticated manner – ha! (fail)
Following that, came a special request to create the floral arrangements for her presentation ‘Ghost Gardens’ at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week S/S 2015 which was showcasing in the Dior Suite of the St. Regis NYC.
After some planning with my incredible wholesaler Paul in Canada to organize the perfect shades of pink and red roses from G.Page Wholesale in Manhattan, NYC – I was on my way for an opportunity beyond my wildest dreams.
Oh the sweet smell of the most perfect garden roses – as only the finest would do!
Although I’m surprised he didn’t capture my eyes wide and mouth dropped wide open at the sight of all of the beauty that the gorgeous Dior Suite possessed… Anya’s stellar photographer Ed from Zorz Studios snapped this picture as soon as I arrived to the Suite – it pretty much sums up the delight of being the happiest Canadian florist in all the world…For those of you who follow my other company’s blog Lynda Marie Couture Millinery – surely you’ve heard me rave about Anya’s hats before and their exquisiteness beyond belief. It is always such an amazing opportunity to see these magnificent pieces up-close and in-person, and to top it off – displayed for the elite of the fashion industry to gush over!
The room was filled with so many decant people, including amazing stylist Leonid Gurevich and all of the beautiful models…
Anya had designed and handmade every dress in which the models were wearing at her presentation. The colours were radiant on the stunning ladies!
If I’m allowed to gush just ever slightly more… to top off the evening – after all the guests had left from ‘Ghost Gardens’, the group of us reveled in the amazing event… drank beautiful pink champagne… ate delicate macarons from Ladurée and they all sang me the best Russian/Italian/American accented version of “Happy Birthday”.
It will be tough to top this magical day!!
With my deepest gratitude to my wonderful, talented team: Ed Hafizov, Leonid Gurevich, Marina Gurevich, Lynda Bull, Beatricce Morturano, Augusto Maggio. To my gorgeous models Anastasia , Rozi Uhl, Latrishe Reed. To the phenomenal beauty team of New-York Institute of Beauty I had a privilege of having on board. To the staff of St.Regis Hotel, to my very special Guests – Thank you for helping me to bring vision of the “Ghost Gardens” to life. It would not be possible without you. Here are the most beautiful moments of my Millinery Presentation of the “Ghost Gardens” Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 in New-York. This experience will be cherished by me for the rest of my life. Thank you million times over.
