This post has been a REALLY long time in the making! And since it’s Jenna & Chris’ 1st Anniversary today – It really seemed like the perfect day to get this post up on the FLEUR Blog. This year has flown by – I cannot believe looking back at these gorgeous pictures that it has really been that long!
To set the tone of the story on this one – Do you remember hearing about the really unfortunate turn of events at Sea Breeze Lodge last year, where the entire main facility succumbed to fire in the middle of the night? I can honestly remember opening up my inbox to a very sweet email the next day from my bride Jenna saying that her venue had burnt down and there would probably have to be some adjustments to the order. “Ummm… What!? You’re not completely freaking out!?” – is going through my mind! But no – she was so calm about the whole scenario and just kept saying it was going to all work out.
(Have I mentioned before how lucky I am to have the oppotunity to work with some of the best people around!?) With a few extra planning meetings we came up with way to make Jenna’s rustic glam wedding come true, with a few slight adjustments…. We may have gone from rustic lodge to a big white marquee tent – but it all turned out pretty great in the end!
I was so excited to hear about the rich late summer colours that Jenna liked – so naturally, we played with them all! Honestly it’s not very often that a bride wants bright, vibrant mixed colours – and after a summer of lighter tones with the occasional bright mono-toned pallets – this wedding was a fabulous way for me to end the season of 2014 with a POW!!
We kept the bridesmaid’s bouquets to simplistic babies breath posies, so that Jenna’s bouquet would really stand out and there wasn’t ‘too much’ colour, as this is something you have to be careful of when you have a pallet this strong.
And there were gold painted leaves that marked the aisle way….
This couple consists of two very wonderful people – It was such a pleasure to work with them for their wedding day. The whole experience really goes to show that no matter what – it always works out in the end! And really, it’s all about the couple, their family and friends and a celebration of love.
This following photos really make me happy! Detail Pics!!
Those Blue Suede Heels… Swoon!! (Chris your socks are pretty great too!),
The Bout, The Flowers….
‘The Meaning of Flowers’ – I truly believe that the flowers a woman chooses to carry on her wedding day reflect her values in life, love and the future she is creating – (even if this is done subconsciously). We are all drawn to certain flowers and colours – that’s what makes us all unique….
Here are the flowers and their meanings for Jenna’s bouquet:
Dahlia ♥ Innocence
Hypericum Berry ♥ Starting a New Path in Life
Aster ♥ Patience
Ranunculus ♥ You are Radiant with Charm
Eryngium ♥ Attraction
Eucalyptus ♥ Protection
Queen Anne’s Lace ♥ Haven / Sanctuary
Zinnia ♥ In Memory
Succulent ♥ Timeless Love / Enduring
Liatris ♥ Enthusiasm
Yellow Rose ♥ Joy / Friendship
Lamb’s Ear ♥ Support
