Welcome to 2016 Friends!
Phew! With the close of yet another year and wedding season – I’m looking forward to reminiscing through the beauty from the 2015 season. What a wild ride it was!
2015 was the first FULL year for FLEURtacious and I’m quite literally blown away by the love and support that I’ve received for the work I create. Thank You, Thank You, Always!
To start things off rather ‘epic’ly – I decided to feature Natosha and Bryant’s wedding as the first in review. This beauty wedding is published in the Spring / Summer 2016 Issue of Weddingbells (on magazine stands now!) ~ AND coming to the Weddingbells.ca website soon – keep your eye out for it!
Kim Kalyn was the photography force behind the lens for these nuptials. She is incredible at capturing soft, romantic, beautiful weddings… (No wonder she’s been published in so many wedding magazines)!!
And details, she is the Queen – I’m always thrilled about the detail shots!
I first met Natosha and Bryant for a consult with Barb at French Kiss Events early last year for what we call a ‘Local Destination Wedding’, these two were visiting from Alberta.
They had a pretty great idea of what they wanted for colours right off the bat – bright, bold, water tones. And Peonies – one of the most Castle worthy flowers around! (We managed to track down the very last of the season again this year!)
With a general ‘water colour effect’ theme highlighted throughout the stationary, bridesmaid dresses, seating chart and bride’s love of painting / art – I simply HAD to use the stunning Picasso Calla Lilies!
The soft romantic flowers fit the setting at Hatley Castle perfectly, complemented by a beautiful aroma of Lavender, Mathiola and Eucalyptus – These bouquets were just what the bride had hoped for.‘The Meaning of Flowers’ – I truly believe that the flowers a woman chooses to carry on her wedding day reflect her values in life, love and the future she is creating – (even if this is done subconsciously). We are all drawn to certain flowers and colours – that’s what makes us all unique….
Here are the flowers and their meanings for Natosha’s bouquet:
Peony ♥ Happy Life, Happy Marriage, Good Health & Prosperity
Calla Lily ♥ Beauty, Magnificence
Scabiosa ♥ Admiration
Purple Rose ♥ Enchantment
Lisianthus ♥ Appreciation
Hydrangea ♥ Heartfelt Emotion
Lavender ♥ Calmness, Serenity, Grace
Mathiola ♥ You Will Always Be Beautiful To Me
Queen Anne’s Lace ♥ Haven, Sanctuary
Eringium ♥ Attraction
Allium ♥ Prosperity
Eucalyptus ♥ Protection
Lamb’s Ear ♥ Support
This seating chart by French Kiss Events fit the theme so perfectly!
Some of my most favourite things – Castles, Chandeliers, Candles, Bold, Beautiful Flowers and a Celebration Full of Love!
Does it get any better!?
